Prettiest Pumpkins in the Patch

When I think fall, pumpkins are the first thing that comes to mind. So it’ll come as no surprise that this weekend’s tutorial are gorgeous paper pumpkin lanterns that require no glue or tape. Watch for the full video tutorial and free designs for these pumpkin lanterns here on my blog and channel on Sunday, September 24!

Whether it’s technically sweater weather or not where you live, my easy No-Sew Sweater Pumpkins are a cozy craft anyone can do! It’s a super fun way to repurpose your old, worn out pullovers — or a perfect excuse to go thrifting.

But, don’t want to make the whole gourd? How about an adorable slice of Pumpkin Pie Plushie — with a bonus pie slice gift box? Or, want to send your guests home happy? Not only can you fit the plushie in the box, it’s also the perfect size for a generous slice of real pumpkin pie.

Carving pumpkins would be so much easier if we could just let our Cricut machine do the cutting! Unfortunately, Cricut hasn’t figured out the whole pumpkin carving process just yet, but I’ve got the next best thing: Paper Pumpkin Kits! Even better, they make a great fun fall craft without the mess of carving!

My Easy Split Monogram tutorial includes a customizable monogram file that you can use so many different ways. This fall, why not monogram a faux pumpkin for your porch?

Falling for Flowers

As summer fades away, there’s no reason why the flowers have to! Luckily, paper flowers are so beautiful, and I love making them look as realistic as possible.Did you know that I actually created my Paper Marigold design by tracing real marigold petals?

The fall colors in Michigan are truly spectacular, so I like to bring those rich autumn colors indoors as much as I can during the season — even in the tiniest of ways! My felt (or paper!) Mini Mums are easy crafts and add a splash of fall to any nook or cranny.

For a truly show-stopping fall flower, how about this mesmerizing Giant Sunflower! Just like the paper marigold design, I traced actual sunflower petals to create this file. Fortunately, your Cricut can cut all the intricate pieces!

Cups of Comfort

What’s perfect for the pumpkin patch or a brisk day of apple picking? A tumbler full of coffee, cocoa, or hot apple cider, that’s what! Pro tip: Fall beverages taste better from a cute tumbler with a Cozy Autumn Vinyl Decal.

The fabulous fall season won’t last forever (sadly), but these Etched Stainless Steel Tumblers might. Use etching cream and a vinyl stencil to create a permanent design on a rugged steel travel mug. Fill it with enough hot coffee to get you through those chilly autumn days.

At home with the kids? Conjure up some creepy concoctions to drink in some silly (and easy) Mugs with Faces made from permanent vinyl.

And did someone say autumn accessories? Making incredible DIY earrings is one of the coolest things many crafters don’t realize they can do with a Cricut! Whether you’re into the simple Faux Leather Earrings look or want to turn up the glitz with Gold Foiled Earrings, I’ve got you covered with fun and easy tutorials.

You can even make Wood Veneer Earrings with a Cricut Explore or Maker series machine! They are so pretty and unique, and are fabulous for fall crafts.

Fall-Time Festivities

Yes, the season of entertaining is rapidly approaching — are you ready to welcome your guests? Protect tabletops from sweaty beverages by making these Custom Cork Coasters with vinyl designs for fall.

Create and fill an Easy DIY Charcuterie Board with seasonal snacks for your autumn get-together or Thanksgiving hors d’oeuvres. The best part? The board is covered in chalkboard vinyl, so you can label goodies or draw little fall doodles for the occasion! Then simply wipe it off, and it’s ready for your next event.

Warm Welcomes

Welcome autumn guests with some seasonal porch decor! A DIY Door Hanger with some fall flair is a beautiful addition to any entrance. Celebrate the season with this HTV Home Sign, or modify my Winter Wreath design and make it with fall tones or Halloween colors like orange, black, purple, and green.

Copper is my favorite metallic color, and I love the way it simply exudes fall vibes! My Copper-Colored Aluminum Wreath may look intimidating, but it’s really quite easy — especially when you save time (and your hands) and have your Cricut do the cutting! This fall wreath is an absolute showstopper, and you’ll end up wanting to hang it on your front door all year round — it’s just THAT gorgeous.

Answers to Your Questions About Fun Fall Crafts

Q: How do I start decorating for fall?

A: You have to start somewhere, so just pick a project and jump in! Want to start with something easy that makes a big impact? My 3D Pumpkin Lanterns only use cardstock, copy paper, a Cricut cutting machine, and an LED tea light. Just follow my easy steps!

You can also easily make a classic-looking monogram decor with some faux pumpkins, or put together a “Give Thanks” shadow boxto kick-start your autumn decorating.

Q: Can you show me how to make cheap fall decorations?

A: I have several budget-friendly crafts for your autumn decor, like my pumpkin lantern, paper wreath, door hangers, paper haunted house, paper marigolds, and no-sew repurposed sweater pumpkins.

Q: Can you help me figure out what to make for a fall craft fair?

A: Tumblers are all the rage right now, and they tend to do very well at craft fairs! Wreaths, door hangers, porch signs, and serving ware are other great options that fair-goers love to take home with them.

Q. How do you make a simple fall centerpiece?

A: I’ve got several options for simple fall centerpieces you can make for your table, or bring as a host gift. Customize my 3D Paper Candles project to give it a spooky vibe, make a paper flower arrangement, light up a pumpkin lantern, and don’t forget the place cards!

Q. What month do you start decorating for fall? Is August too soon to decorate for fall?

A: I typically start decorating for fall toward the end of September, but it’s completely up to you! Your home, your choice. You get to choose how you decorate, and when!

Q. What are fall decor colors?

A: My favorite fall decor colors look a lot like the autumn leaves here in Michigan: Deep maroon, rich oranges and yellows, rust colors, and earthy browns. Jewel tones are also beautiful for fall, like plummy purples and even dark turquoise and gem reds. These colors are gorgeous for general fall-time or Thanksgiving crafts. If you’re wanting more of a spooky vibe for Halloween crafts, black and orange are my go-tos, but purple, yellow, and green are also fun choices! Just have fun and use colors in a creative way you like!
