I recently deleted mine.
A homeless guy wanted to come over to my place and jerk me off. Or have me jerk him off?
I asked him how he made a living; he said he wrote term papers for college kids and pulled weeds.
I told him I wasn't interested but I wrote I hoped he found a C-minus student with a backyard that hadn't been tended to in a long time.
He told me to f*ck off.
I thought. That's it. I'm done. Too many homeless creeps. Semi-hot (but not really) youngsters looking for 'gen.'
For me, it's going to be the long, lonely road to the grave.
Just like Ginny Tillman.

I'm curious about the name. Why such a negative, sad*stic choice: "Yeah, I met my husband on Grindr"?
by Anonymous | reply 2 | October 15, 2022 6:14 PM |
I delete my Grindr account regularly and take long breaks off Grindr. Grindr was always difficult for finding quality men to have anything with, but these days is f*cking impossible. And the amount of bi, trans, and crossdressers on there outnumbers actual gay men on there.
Grindr will ban you for specifying on your profile that you are only seeking gay males or only seeking men.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | October 19, 2022 4:05 PM |
I deleted it years ago. Too many hooker-bots and regular hookers.
Scruff is a lot better, and seems utterly devoid of prostitution whor*s. Also, the guys there have fatter asses.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | October 19, 2022 4:08 PM |
Thanks, R4; I'll try scruff.
I went to a holiday zoom party with a professional guild I belong to; lots of gay men. We all went around updating our lives with each other.
"I just got married!"
"I got engaged!"
Me: "I was asked on GRINDR if I was 'gen' -- and there's a five-year age gap between me and the guy who asked. He's the older one."
by Anonymous | reply 5 | October 19, 2022 5:42 PM |
Dearest Mother describes anyone with an online dating profile as "pretty cheap goods." And I must agree.
I'm single and occasionally lonely. But I'm not a harlot.

Doesn’t the new CEO have a history of making pro-Trump posts that all got deleted when he was hired?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | October 19, 2022 6:02 PM |
True story … I know a guy who posted a pic of his 80 year old female dyke neighbor on his Grindr profile. He got so many hits he had to take it down !
by Anonymous | reply 8 | October 19, 2022 6:27 PM |
Grindr is absolutely full of trannies. There are also some straight girls appearing on there now, which I find really weird. Both get an instant block.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | October 19, 2022 7:35 PM |
Grindr is no longer a gap app. It’s filled with bots, catfishers and trannies.
I deleted Grindr long ago.
Scruff has a higher quality of guys, users can get their pictures verified and that rules out catfishers, and one you block a disgusting tranny it stays blocked.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | October 19, 2022 7:44 PM |
R10 yes, but Scruff has more FTM on it than Grindr and more FTM chasers.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | October 19, 2022 9:21 PM |
Yeah so annoying to be on a gay app and see profiles from straight guys saying: no gay guys!!!
But if you’re a gay guy and say you’re into men only, you’re a horrible person!
by Anonymous | reply 12 | October 19, 2022 9:40 PM |
I no longer have a Grindr account, but when I did, I used it for hookups only. I wasn't trying to make friends and lovers on it. I was very realistic about what kind of app Grindr is.
(Scruff is better if you're also interested in making friends and finding potential boyfriends.)
by Anonymous | reply 13 | October 19, 2022 9:50 PM |
NO. I just pop up now and then and have a stable of regulars on rotation. they know me, and they know they can trust me and f*ck me raw. I haven't since monkeypox, though, and not likely will go again.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | October 19, 2022 9:57 PM |
For those few of you with a shred of political conscience, the new CEO's a rightwing MAGAt.

why is he not chinese R15 ? I thought grindr was owned by the chings
by Anonymous | reply 16 | October 19, 2022 10:03 PM |
R15 yes we know, he is a c*nt. But that doesn't change the fact that us gay men are sick of trans and straight people using Grindr. We need a CEO who will make Grindr GAY again.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | October 19, 2022 10:04 PM |
DARKGEMINILORD I actually prefer my grindr hook-ups to be straight, with kids, they're more careful disease-wise
by Anonymous | reply 18 | October 19, 2022 10:09 PM |
But the straight ones on there are looking for trans only…
by Anonymous | reply 19 | October 19, 2022 10:32 PM |
not so R19. but TBH, one is a brute (he's hung and likes to hurt), another works at the morgue and is kind of weird...it's not all wine and roses
by Anonymous | reply 20 | October 19, 2022 10:34 PM |
R11 as I said, once you block a disgusting tranny, either MTF or FTM, is STAYS blocked, unlike Grindr, where they could just erase their profile and stink up the app again
And I have noticed any FTM chasers on Scruff. I’m going to call bull sh*t on that statement.

Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahah!!
You're hilarious, R19!
by Anonymous | reply 23 | October 19, 2022 10:39 PM |
R23 I'm also dumb enough to have unprotected sex with semi-strangers, and I'm not even on PreP
by Anonymous | reply 24 | October 19, 2022 10:41 PM |
I deleted mine a while back. The last hookup I had was with a hot guy I had been chatting with for a few days. When I finally agreed to go to his place, he asked me to bring a pizza for him (I didn't, but red flag). When I got to his apartment it was filled with garbage and he apparently slept on a mattress in the corner of the living room. Fine, I guess. So afte a while we start making out and two guys just come out of the back bedroom. Scared the sh*t out of me. Luckily they were just leaving, but I realized it could have been a dangerous situation.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | October 19, 2022 10:51 PM |
R21 there is A LOT of FTM and FTM chasers in Scruff. Just because you haven't seen it, doesn't mean it's bullsh*t. I've seen many on Scruff and have screenshots of their profiles.
Fair enough that the blocking of trans is better on Scruff though. That's definitely a good thing!
by Anonymous | reply 26 | October 19, 2022 11:11 PM |
Scruff is better in almost every way except some quality guys only use Grindr still, so one has to have that too.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | October 20, 2022 6:54 AM |
I am shocked at how many fake profiles there are on Grindr, so many of them CD's. I joined Grindr about 2 years ago and have blocked well over 200 fake profiles already. Can't Grindr do something about that? I won't upgrade until we can search other profiles with a preference for race.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | October 20, 2022 7:05 AM |
r9 you had two branches of females on grindr back when it started; before transtrender wave, there was an active livejournal group of girls that believed they were only attracted to gay men but definitely not trans and screamed they had a right to be there -- they had a few blog articles on huffington post and it became a wider trend.
then a few years later when tumblr became all things sjw, they invaded because they could score "journalist" jobs or be awarded articles for catfishing gay men.. because there was a popular trend to attack gay men (which was partially tied to when gay men asked str8 women to stop holding bachlorette parties in gay spaces until marriage equality was federally recognized, the number of famous hags that ditched the gay community once they went mainstream but when their mainstream careers fizzled were upset that gays didn't welcome them back with open arms and declared gay men to be the worst, and identity label whor*s aka tumblrinas that co-opted the rad fem belief that gay men are at the top of the progressive stack as the most privileged group... all of which opened the doors to conservative trolls to do the same thing and claim it was for social justice because grindr refused to police sjws even when those accounts were frontpage news with their catfishing attempts, tho many of the alleged targets turned out to be their sockpuppets for their articles but that was given a pass because it highlighted an important social justice issue... it also allowed grindr to advertise solidarity with various groups for cross promotion. )
It's been a while is scruff the one that requires guys to take a picture of themselves shirtless holding a sign with their user name and the current date for validation?
by Anonymous | reply 29 | October 20, 2022 7:23 AM |
Why not just use Tinder or that app Pete and Chasten met on, Squirt or Jacked?
by Anonymous | reply 30 | October 20, 2022 8:15 AM |
"... the new CEO's a rightwing MAGAt"
And a Russian, of course. The APP is probably spyware that knows every detail of your life.

Of everyone here saying that Scruff is better, I am very curious about your respective locations? I’m in NYC (midtown Manhattan to be exact) and tbh I really don’t notice THAT big of a difference btwn the guys on each (perhaps scruff skewing older, and definitely fewer closet cases etc)?
I also feel like with Scruff, at least in NYC, most guys are there just to chat and get IG followers. Hate that sh*t. Feels like it’s becoming a gay instagram.
When it comes to actually meeting guys, I think I’ve had overall better luck with Grindr surprisingly (especially since upgrading to a paid subscription), idk…
by Anonymous | reply 32 | October 20, 2022 11:04 AM |
^ also to add, anyone else feel like the extended profiles on scruff really brings out the narcissism in some? I swear, I’ve really pondered how many hours some guys have spent just typing their profiles (because you know, we all just NEED to know every minute detail about your super unique life and desires…).
by Anonymous | reply 33 | October 20, 2022 11:09 AM |
R33, the profiles can be soooo funny. The 10/10 guy that claims he doesn't care about appearances. The guy that writes a book about his preferences yet says he is easy to please. The amateur philosopher. So much dumb sh*t. But Scruff really is better in my experience.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | October 20, 2022 5:50 PM |
We should be able to report people saying “no dudes” if it’s against their terms to say “no trans/blacks” etc
by Anonymous | reply 35 | October 20, 2022 6:27 PM |
I prefer Growlr. And what does this mean:
[Quote] "I was asked on GRINDR if I was 'gen'
by Anonymous | reply 36 | October 20, 2022 6:47 PM |
[quote]And a Russian, of course.
R31 Read the article you posted, Lazy Lucy. He's from the Republic of Georgia and moved to the US when he was 14.

R36, it means some snot twinky was asking me if I'd PAY him money to let me take him to dinner and then get a disconnected hand job afterwards.
They usually hit you up at the end of the month for rent and they have some sob story.

How is it worth $2 billion if hardly any of the 11 million subscribers pay?
by Anonymous | reply 39 | October 21, 2022 5:53 AM |
How does it have 11 million subscribers if only 0.5 of the population is gay?
by Anonymous | reply 40 | October 21, 2022 6:05 AM |
I agree with DARKGE MINILORD. He so wise.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | October 21, 2022 6:22 AM |
R40 because it’s full of non gays too?
by Anonymous | reply 42 | October 21, 2022 8:01 AM |
This new CEO looks an awful lot like your average flyover-state Grindr user. Eerie.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | October 21, 2022 5:01 PM |
R38 NOW I get it! Gen means generous! Thank you.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | October 21, 2022 5:23 PM |
[quote]How does it have 11 million subscribers if only 0.5 of the population is gay?
There are nearly 8 billion people in the world, and more than 4 billion are over the age of 18. So, if 5% of the population is gay (lots of debate there, of course) that means there could theoretically be as many as 200 million subscribers.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | October 22, 2022 3:12 PM |
<- but the U.S. is one of the few countries you won't get thrown in prison or off a building or beheaded for being gay. So you can't count Syraqistanistan.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | October 22, 2022 3:20 PM |
^ that's quite an exaggeration. There are nearly 200 countries and fewer than 70 criminalize hom*osexuality, and most of those are in Africa.

Actually most are Muslim theocracies. African ones round out the rest
