Nilsen Advances To Pole Vault Final At Olympic Trials (2024)

EUGENE, Ore. — Former South Dakota standout Chris Nilsen advanced to the finals of the men’s pole vault at the USA Track & Field Olympic Trials, Friday in Eugene, Oregon.

Nilsen, the three-time defending national outdoor champion, was one of five athletes to clear 5.7 meters (18-8 1/4) in Friday’s prelims. Eight other athletes advanced by clearing 5.65 meters (18-6 1/2).
